We’re proud to celebrate the five year work anniversary of our Cooplers! Join us as we speak to Easter, our long-term Coopler of five years, to learn more about her flexible work journey with Coople.

Introducing Easter C.

Easter joined Coople in 2017 and started off in hospitality as a waitress. After booking her first shift, she promptly gained glowing four star reviews, with hiring companies praising her teamwork and communication skills. As a result of her hard work and dedication, Easter is now a favourite of 34 hiring companies.

Why did you join Coople? What made you stay as a long-term Coopler?

“I downloaded it out of curiosity, but what really got me to stay active on the app was the support that I received. I connected with a team member who was really helpful. They answered all my questions about the app and gave me a lot of encouragement. Thanks to Coople, I learned more about the hospitality industry and got insight into all the best practises. Even though I had a full-time job at the time, I was still working with Coople on my days off – not for the money, but because it was so fun. I genuinely enjoyed it because I got to know a lot of people and made lots of friends through my shifts. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, which made me want to keep working with Coople. The quality of people I’ve met through this app have been outstanding.”

What was your very first Coople job? How did your journey as a long-term Coopler develop from there?

“My first job was at Shepherd’s Bush hotel. I was given the opportunity to trial different positions while I was there, which meant I learnt a lot. I was also exposed to a wide range of people, which taught me how to communicate effectively and take initiative in situations.”

What experiences have you gained since working with Coople?

“When I first joined Coople, I used to do two jobs in one day. This meant I got to frequently change environments and roles, which gave me a lot of experience. I learnt lots of new skills outside of my standard 9-to-5 such as how to communicate with others, health and safety, etc.”

What career goals are you working towards?

“I’d love to be in a managerial position within hospitality. I want to open restaurants and oversee everything. I’d also like to become more specialised in food and wine, and expand my knowledge on all things hospitality.”

What’s your favourite thing about working flexibly?

“I enjoy being able to meet new people every day. You gain countless new experiences and it’s all done on your own schedule. You’re in control, so it’s very convenient. I also really like how my efforts with Coople are always recognised. It’s really encouraging to see and it makes me feel valued as a part of the community.”

As a long-term Coopler, what advice would you give to newly registered flex workers?

“Give 100% in any kind of job – you don’t know where it’ll take you. In the beginning, I didn’t want to become a manager but then after a while I realised perhaps it was the right path for me. If you work hard and try hard, you’ll gain skills and improve. You never know where those skills and experiences will lead you.”
