Introducing Nikol

Meet Nikol, one of our dedicated customer service specialists. Nikol started working flexibly as a Coopler before joining the Coople office on a permanent basis in June 2021 as a customer success agent.

When and why did you join Coople?

“I started working with Coople back in 2019. At the time, I was working part-time as a freelance social media consultant and I was looking for other flexible work opportunities. What really drew me to Coople was the connections to reputable companies, cool workspaces, and the rating system for Cooplers. With the rating system in place, companies could verify my skills after getting to know me, not just based on my CV. This helped me to land many job opportunities, both inside and outside of Coople, that I don’t think would’ve been possible otherwise.”

What was your very first job with Coople? How did temporary work support your career advancement?

“My very first job with Coople was as a Food Runner for Deliveroo at the Gherkin. While it was quite fun, my long-term goal was to get into more office/admin based roles but I had very little experience at the time. Through luck and timing, I landed a last-minute office role that was at a novice skill level. After receiving some training, I managed to impress my supervisor. From then on, I became a regular part-time worker.”

“During this time, I completed lots of shifts across admin and marketing positions. After a while, I accumulated a lot of high star ratings from hiring companies. Eventually, Coople posted a role for an internal customer success agent in 2021. All my work in the past contributed to having the right skills for the job so I applied, and now I’ve been working permanently with Coople for nearly a year.”

What learnings and experiences have you gained since joining the team?

“Since joining the team, I’ve experienced how diverse everyone’s backgrounds are and how impressive their experience is, particularly in hospitality and admin. I was unaware how many Cooplers like me were working in the office with permanent staff and how some of the team members were working as Cooplers from time to time. That stood out to me at first. It made me realise the team truly understand what it is like to work as Cooplers. I believe that level of understanding and empathy is quite rare to find in a company.”

“During my time with Coople, I have learnt a variety of different skills from conducting interviews, data analysis, problem solving and how to multi-task efficiently by handling many high-priority projects at the same time.”

What has been your most memorable experience with Coople?

One of the coolest Coople jobs I did was for Freemantle, where I worked as a receptionist for the X Factor and other well-known reality TV shows. As part of the role, I spoke to contestants over the phone and even some VIP guests such as the CEO’s of well-known brands.

What goals are you working towards?

My current goal is to beat last year’s onboarding record by helping more Cooplers get to work. Having worked with Coople to achieve my goals, I want to help as many people as possible to achieve their dream jobs too.

What advice would you give to new Cooplers who are focusing on career advancement?

Ask questions and learn as much as you can from a shift, even if it’s just a one-day opportunity! If you really love a role and your supervisor lets you know you have done a great job, let them know you’re grateful for the opportunity and express that you would be happy to do it again. You would be surprised how far this can get you in terms of looking for regular work.
